Bergman Brothers #2

Author: Chloe Liese

Kindle Edition, Audiobook Anyplay

This is the story of Ren, the hockey player. If you read the first book in the series, that makes him the black sheep because this is pretty much a football/soccer family. He’s so so sweet. He’s a gentleman through and through, even on the ice! And we all know how hard it is when you are a hockey player and you get teased and riled up every single game. But he knows that there are little kids watching and he wants to be a role model. He has a Shakespeare club, he reads to sick little kids at the hospital… You can’t get a bigger cinnamon roll than Ren.

He’s also been pining for ages  for Frankie, the team’s social media manager. To her, he’s a dream – no scandals, no fights, wonderful photo ops with the kids… and he’s cute AF. But the thing is, Frankie’s been burned before. She avoids relationships because she believes she is a handful: she is on the autism spectrum and she has rheumatoid arthritis. She doesn’t want to be a burden to anyone and have them resent her for being who she is.

However, Frankie’s house gets broken into and she has no place to stay. Ren comes to the rescue, offers her a place at his house, and they spend a lot of time together. There is no denying how they make each other feel anymore. They know they have to keep a distance, because they work together… but can they?

I absolutely adored this book! Ren is definitely book boyfriend material! I love how they communicate! After all, Frankie has a hard time reading people’s faces and expressions. She needs them to be literal and Ren respects every single “quirkiness” of her personality.

The Bergmans are also one of my favorite families! I want all of them to have their own stories.

HIGHLY recommend this one!

Narration: I DNFed the narration and switched to reading. No shade to the narrators, and I am not even rating it here. You see, I am a freak, a super fast reader, and I read way faster than I listen (I DO NOT speed the narration – that’s for crazy people! 😉 Narration is an art and should be appreciate at 1x. There I said it! lol). I wanted to get to the HEA and reading for me is faster.
