Author: Mia Sheridan

Printed Edition, Forever

This is my second Mia Sheridan book and I am a fan! Her storytelling, her character development… *chef’s kiss*! This is a very unique romance and I feel completely in love with it. It’s that kind of story that gives you a warm, gooey feeling in your heart. (It still gets you warm in other places, but I digress…)

Bree has just arrived in Pelion, a small town in Maine to run from tragic events in her recent past. Soon after she arrives, she has a “meet cute” with the most intriguing man: Archer Hale.  She drops all her groceries on the floor and he helps her pick them up. But he won’t say a word to her. He just leaves.

Bree finds out that he is the town’s  (for the lack of a better word) “weirdo”. He hasn’t spoken since an accident that killed his parents and crushed his voice box. But she doesn’t know she’s not supposed to fraternize with him and ignore him like everyone does. She is intrigued and she ends up striking a friendship with the silent guy. You see, Bree knows sign language (her father was deaf) and she finds out he can sign.

Bree soon learns that he had lived with his “on the cooky side” Uncle Nathan until he passed away and he now lives in isolation in his house by the lake. He was home schooled and he doesn’t go into town. But he lets her get close to him.  A friendship develops, with an attraction that is palpable but that is very hard for Archer to navigate because he has literally  had no real human interaction besides his uncle.

The love that develops between these two is so sweet and swoony! It’s so beautiful to see Archer bloom with Bree’s love.

And there are some mysteries involving the Hales that make this story even more intriguing!

So, yeah: there’s romance, there’s steam, there’s suspense and, most of all, there is a beautiful and unique love story! LOVED IT!

BTW, by the end of the book, you will want to put Archer in your pocket and save him for yourself… just saying! 😉
