Jess is a math wiz, a numbers genius, but she’s had no luck in finding the formula for true love. She is a single mom to  her 7-year-old daughter and she lives her life thinking that love is just not coming to her.

On a whim, she and her best friend decide to try out a new matchmaking company that claims they can find your soulmate through DNA matching. When her results come back and she matches up with a startling 98% compatibility score with the founder of the app, Dr River Pena, she is dumbfounded…. She’s met River before and he is so not her soulmate! But a pairing like that is a chance impossible to pass by the marketing department and they are dragged through parties and interviews and events. Jess starts to realize that “Americano” is not as bad as she thought he was. Might there be some real science in finding a soulmate after all?

This book is that perfect book to pick up when you want to have a nice, sweet read, low angst and just plain …nice. I love the characters in this book. River is as sweet as can be. Jess is so relatable as the single mom who wants to do her best for her kid. Juno, the kid, is a hoot, and so are Jess’s grandparents, who raised her and are helping her raise Juno. Fizzy, her best friend, is my favorite! We all need a Fizzy in our lives – the perfect dose of sass and loyal friendship.

The book gets a little science-y at the end but, since I was a part of that world a million years ago, it didn’t feel too much for me. I really liked that the conflict was not something either one of our main characters did, but something that was done to them and they manage to get through it.

A fun, sweet read. I recommend.
