Lucy and Josh hate each other. Seriously, I mean it, they HATE each other. They were forced to worked together when the two publishing houses where they worked merged. Now they are the assistants to the co-CEOs and they are in an endless game of upmanship. When a big promotion is up for grabs and, if one of them gets it, it means they’ll be the other one’s boss, the game is really on. But why is Lucy starting to have steamy dreams featuring Josh? And why is he all of a sudden so very interested if she’s going out on a date? Hmm, hate may have been the wrong word after all…

I am late to this game. This book had been on my TBR since forever and I have this little project of clearing up the humongous pile of books on my bedside table (let alone the ridiculous kindle library of unread stuff). And recently I heard about it again, so why not?

I know, I know, it’s trope-y and all that but at the same time it brings all the feels. I particularly like that this was a slow road to romance (we kinda guessed that one of them was way ahead down this road at least in the infatuation department, but that’s par for the course) but it gave me all the warm and fizzy feelings I want to get when I read a romance book. There were the caretaking, and the “fake dating” and the forced proximity situations but everything rang true in how they were interwoven in the plot. I particularly loved how Lucy decimated Josh’s dad at the wedding! Go Lucy!

I also loved how the promotion situation was solved in the end!

I can totally see how this has opened the way for some other enemies to lovers super-hyped romances that are popping up now!

Loved it!
