Well, well, well, John has developed into some sort of Clark Kent so to speak under all the nerdness: a tech billionaire who is now hot AF! Whodda thunk it?? When he shows up at the restaurant where Olivia works when she’s off season with her ballet company, the last thing she expected was to be very attracted to the former nerdy-looking JBNerdaballs and that he was there to make her a proposition. He wants her to pose as his girlfriend because market research said that it would make him look better at galas, events and social events. Sher will be compensate, they’ve known each other all their lives, so… What’s the harm in that, right?
This is an adorable, sexy, friends to lovers, brother’s best friend story. At some points, you get a little annoyed with John for his lack of (what can I call it?) “common sense” but the guy dances to the beat of his own drum. Once you get that, you fall in love with him like Olivia did.
The audiobook is narrated by Mackenzie Cartwright (no need to comment there, she rocks) and Benjamin D. Walker, who was new to me. He was ok. Not throwing shade at his narration, but I am spoiled by the more recent narrators who are in KL’s recent audiobooks – whop are basically my GOATs – and I am terribly biased and I couldn’t not compare. It’s still great audiobook!
