Hartbridge Christmas #1

Author: N. R. Walker

Kindle Edition, KU

Ren lives in the Hallmark-Christmas-Movie-Set town of Hartbridge, Montana. He’s not having the best of holidays this year. His dad passed away and it will be his first Christmas alone. And he has resigned himself to the fact that, being the only (at least out) gay man in Hartbridge, his Christmas – and his life –  will be like that as norm.

Cue in the meet-cute: a blaring horn, a car on the side of the road, and a cute Aussie (who has never even seen snow) jet lagged, scared and borderline hysterical. After all, after being awake for 36-hours, having his flight detoured because of a snowstorm and driving in  conditions he has never seen before can drive a man to insanity.

Ren comes to the rescue and gives shelter to poor Hamish, who has just arrived from Australia to see his sister and stay for a couple of years.

With the roads closed and his car needing to be towed, Hamish has no other option than to accept the offer from this kind stranger to shelter in his home.

Being snowed in with Hamish is all the cheer that Ren needed in his holidays. Christmas might be saved after all!

This is book 1 from the series and I read them in reverse order and I am not disappointed. It’s the cutest Christmas story! Hamish and Ren are perfect together and I was happy to see how they met, as they are very present in book 2.

(Side note: I am also glad that I read book 2 first because I loved Carter and, although he is only mentioned in this book in one paragraph, he comes out as such a douche that I now understand why Hamish doesn’t like him…)

If you have never read an MM romance before, you can definitely read this without clutching your pearls. There is a tiny bit of heat that won’t scare the shy reader. Go for it!

I loved it!
