Mark Banks is a 27-year-old polo-shirt wearing, spreadsheet loving,  single dad who’s slightly bitter at how his life has turned out. He absolutely adores Rosie, his six-year-old precious daughter, but, let’s face it, he’s too young to be living this life.  He’s at this stage when news come that his sister and best friend is getting married and he’s to be her “best man”. Her fiancé has also requested that his best friend be his best man. Enter Asher St. James, former football (argh, I can’t say soccer!!!!) star and now famous photographer. Since this is a destination wedding in Miami, Hannah and Flip send their best men ahead to sort wedding stuff out for them. Little problem: Asher has been the star of Mark’s fantasies, with his “floofy” hair and eight-pack. And there’s this pesky little situation: Mark inadvertently sent out a drunk “intexticated” message to their group chat in which he states that he thinks that this wedding is a mistake and calls Asher the “super hot wingman” . Talk about embarrassing situations…

But they are loyal to the couple and they go to Miami to get the wedding going. What Mark doesn’t know is that Asher also finds the polo-shirt enthusiast hot as hell… And when Mark suddenly confesses that he has been wanting to “explore” (after all he was thrown into a shotgun wedding at 21), Asher literally raises his hand and volunteers as tribute: one short fling, one week in Miami and then they go back their separate ways. Yeah, good luck with that boys! 😉

When I heard that these two favorite authors were teaming up to write a story I literally squealed. I had zero doubts that this would be amazing. They surpassed my super-high expectations! Asher and Mark are adorable together. Oh the banter…The steam comes off  the page while hitting you square in the chest and giving you all the feels! A million stars!

Now let’s talk about the narration: c’mon, it’s Jeddy! Teddy brings all the charm and vulnerability to Mark. Amazing as usual. And Jacob, oh Jacob… he becomes Asher: he’s cocky, with a hint of vulnerability too. I also don’t know if this was on purpose, but when he voices Mark’s parts, he gives it that quintessential Teddy, California dude inflection and it’s so good! Also, if you like him doing kids’s voices and accents, you are in for a treat. A million stars for the boys!

PS: If want to have even more fun with this one, read the prequel Super Hot Wingman. It’s free on KU and the audio is available on Lauren Blakely’s YouTube channel.

I won a signed physical copy of the prequel novella Super Hot Wingman, signed by the authors!
