Willow Creek Valley Series #3

e-book, KOBO

Author: Jen DeLuca

We are back at Willow Creek, where single mom April has lived for more than ten years. She’s been very guarded, never joined town events (not even the super popular Renaissance Faire) and now her daughter Caitlin is leaving for college. April’s determined to pack her things and leave town to finally “live her life”. She enlists her friend Mitch to help her spruce up the house before it’s listed. Mitch is the Faire hunk – he traipses around in a kilt, bare-chested, showing his perfect gym teacher, CrossFit enthusiast muscles for all to see. He will help her but he needs a favor too: a “girlfriend” to show up with him at a family event so they can get off his back re “settling down”. April agrees, they start spending time together with the renovations and they go away for the weekend together for his family’s function. Throw in forced proximity, one bed in a honeymoon suite and a ton of attraction that was already there and you know things will get heated. And complicated!

I was apprehensive going into this one. Though I loved book #1, book #2 was a little problematic for me. Boy, am I happy I took a chance in this one! All the Faire fun is back without being predominant and I just love Mitch – and I love the April Mitch brings to life!

Yes, it’s trope-y, but I love the “reverse” age gap (April is 10 years older than Mitch) and the way they evolved from friends to lovers.

We meet Lulu in this book and her story is next and oh my she’s going to have her hands full with another hunk in a kilt! This man is trouble with capital T!
