Green Valley Heroes #2

Lola Landry is already feeling like a loser: she came back to her hometown after losing her job in a fancy marketing firm in New Orleans and is living with her aunt, working as a waitress and hosting the Kiss-n-Tell podcast with her best friend. Not at all according to any of her plans. Nope. When she locks herself out of her car, things get even worse. She’s rescued by her high school nemesis, Jockstrap Jed. He’s now a firefighter in Green Valley and could definitely be in one of those “hot firefighter” calendars. He helps her out and asks her on a date. The nerve!!! Well, she can always use him as a guest for her podcast… but one date turns into two, three, four… and she has plans, dammit! And her plans don’t include falling for her nemesis.

This book is so sweet and swoony! Lola and Jed became nemesis in high school because, as teenagers often do, they didn’t know how to deal with their intense feelings for each other. So instead of dealing with them, they resorted to playground tactics: name calling and pig-tail pulling. Now, as adults, all those feelings come back to the surface, and lo and behold, they are still very real.

Jed is absolutely swoony. If you love a pining hero, look no further. He’ll make you sigh from page 1. I love how committed he is to his family (and they are a bunch of lovely characters).

If you love second chance, enemies to lovers, small town romances, Parks and Provocation will hit you in all the right spots. Sweet, swoony, and hot hot hot. All the feels!

Representation: both hero and his niece are dyslexic

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you, Juliette Cross for the advanced copy.
