Love Lines #2

Audible Original, Audible

Author: Cara Bastone

Narrators: Lidia Dornet and Chris Brinkley

It’s late at night and our heroine is in the kitchen, eating a sub-par chocolate cake when her phone pings. It’s booty call o’clock, so who could be texting her at this hour? When she checks it, it’s Elliot Hoffman and WTF?! She has major crush on him and she can’t resist answering his text (which he indeed sent by mistake) and they keep talking. All night long. They’re both insomniacs and their back and forth banter keeps them through the night. There’s a little problem, though. Our heroine won’t reveal who she is and Elliot has no idea. You see, he’s severely dyslexic and he usually just types garbled text when adding a contact and then gets back to it later and corrects it when he has time to focus. He keeps asking and she keeps evading. What he doesn’t know is that who she is may never fit in his life and he may never accept the secret she’s keeping. But they are perfect for each other… will Fate intervene?

I was so happy to see that this was going to Elliot’s story from the first one! He’s absolutely adorable and our heroine is feisty and cool and just what he needs! I loved their story!

Narration: Again, narration is key here and Lidia Dornet and Chris Brinkley are just gold! If you are new to audiobooks, I highly recommend trying this series: they’re short, adorable and amazingly performed.

Possible Triggers and rep: hero is dyslexic. Mentions of alcoholism, a violent and traumatic break in and one secondary character is terminally ill
