The Vancouver Agitator #1

e-book, KU, Audiobook, Audible

Author: Meghan Quinn

Narrators: Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin

Winnie is lost. Literally and figuratively: she took off on trip to find herself after the death of her mom and she heads to Banff, Canada on a mission to steal a trophy from her estranged uncle so that she can “avenge” her mom. On the way there, she gets caught in storm, gets lost, gets her car stuck in the mud – all without cell phone reception; She tries to find help and finally gets to a house, full of hockey players relaxing off season! Nope, you pervs, get your minds off the gutter, it’s not that kind of book! (Nothing wrong with that kind of book, but this just ain’t it!) They give her shelter and she’s particularly drawn to one of them, Pacey Lawes, who’s hot as sin with his long hair and is very sweet and chivalrous.

Pacey is mesmerized by this girl who showed up from nowhere and he can’t shake the feeling that he knows her. It’s because he DOES – she’s his half-brother’s ex. A brother he barely sees and with whom has a strained relationship.

While stranded there (it’ll take a while for the tow to be able to reach them and get her car out of the ditch), they start to get to know each other better. But pretty soon the past will come knocking on their door…

I enjoyed this one, even though it was pretty instalove-y. The brotherhood between the guys is amazing. Meghan Quinn writes friendships really well! Speaking of friends, I wanted to sedate Kate, though… Take a chill pill, child!

Fun, sweet book.

Narration: the lovely growly voice of the talented Jason Clarke and the amazing Vanessa Edwin in this one (she’s scary good with her male voices!!)

Possible triggers: mentions of death of a parent, cancer diagnosis and grief; MMC suffers  from debilitating migraines
