Twisted Series #3

Kindle e-book

Author: Ana Huang

Josh Chen is a charmer. Everyone loves him. He’s gorgeous, cocky and every woman he’s ever met has been charmed by the young resident. Well, not really every woman. Jules Ambrose, his sister’s best friend, fucking hates him. And it’s not like he doesn’t hate her back. Apparently, satan wants to test him because she’s everywhere his sister is and now she’s working at the clinic where he volunteers.

Jules just can’t  stand Josh. It all started when she had just met Ava, her new roommate, and she overheard Josh telling his sister to stay away from “that girl because she’s trouble” . She’s been able to bicker her way through life with Josh until their animosity (Quelle surprise!) turns into an unforgettable night. When Josh proposes an “enemies with benefits” deal, she can’t say no. The more time they spend together, the more they realize that they are perfect for each other… until pretty ugly demons from the past come back to haunt Jules. Well, they say the truth shall you free… Hmm, maybe not.

OMG, I loved loved loved this book!  Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and one that is hardest to do right and this one is perfection! The animosity between them has been developing even before book 1 and it’s very believable. The way they finally get together also feels very organic and easy to accept. There is a whole mystery about Jules’s past that I thought was really interesting and I really liked how it was resolved.

I would put this book in the 6-star gallery except for the way Josh behaves in the 3rd act conflict. I understand where he is coming from but you don’t do that to the woman you love. NOPE. I still find him swoonworthy but his words and cruelty to Jules broke my heart. Not cool, Josh. Yeah, he groveled.

Amazing story! Couldn’t put it down! Seriously hot too!
