Redemption Hills #2

Audible audiobook

Author: A. L. Jackson

Narrators: Andi Arndt and Joe Arden

Jud Lawson has been living a relatively quiet life in Redemption Hills, to where he came with his brothers, trying to escape their past. He owns a custom bike shop, he’s devoted to his little nephew Gage, he has no problems finding occasional hook-ups.

And then SHE shows up – Salem Aguilar, in the middle of a storm, drenched to the bones in her dead piece of crap car, stranded in the middle of nowhere. One look at her and he’s doomed. He not only helps her but gives her a job at the shop. Now she’s strutting her ass around and driving him up the wall. He can’t have her. He’s too possessed by demons unleashed by the life he left behind. Salem is like catnip. He just needs to resist.

Salem can’t believe her bad luck. Stranded in the rain, her car broke and a mountain of a man, on a bike, shows up and offers to help. The thing is she can’t accept help… from anyone. She’s running from the worst of all evils and she can’t put her guard down. She has her most precious gift to protect. So why does she feel like she can finally accept a hand reaching out to her?

I have you“. These three little words will permeate this book and every time they’re uttered you fall harder for Jud. I thought he’s brother Trent was oh-so-swoony but I wasn’t prepared for Jud. His baggage is even heavier than Trent’s and the wounds created by this past are even deeper.

This is very instalust-y, but with such guarded people, it would have to be “a force of nature” like that to get them to open up to each other.

It’s a beautiful story. You will be at the edge of your seat the same way Salem is but you will love the ride.
(Side note: I’m ridiculously hard to surprise with “plot twists”  and Amy’s done it twice already! Impressive!)

Narration: Joe Arden is a fan favorite. Andi Arndt is the Meryl Streep of narration. Period.

Possible triggers: violent acts on page; domestic abuse; death of child; parental alienation; betrayal by a family member; death of a sibling; physical and emotional abuse by a parent
