Author: Jennifer Hartmann

Narrators: Stefanie Kay and Neill Thorne

On their 6th anniversary, Melody loses the love of her life in a freak succession of events. She’s left heartbroken until she decides to contact the recipient of her husband’s heart. She’s also attending a suicide prevention group after harming herself. There she meets Parker. He’s grumpy, rude, and doesn’t take the meetings seriously. Melody is instantly captivated by him and soon she notices that she has the same effect on him. She’s still exchanging messages with the mysterious Zephyr79 and with all this she seems to be feeling the smiles come back to her face. Neither she nor Parker is ready to move on but the pull between them is incredibly strong, and hope – what a dangerous thing! – can really mend a broken soul.

I’m seriously in awe of Jennifer Hartmann. This story is heavy and it’s centered on losing the will to live. I am very impressed as to how she manages to pull at our heartstrings without throwing trauma for shock value as it seems to be the “trend” nowadays. Melody and Parker will go through hell to get their HEA and no one deserves it more than them.

This is a character driven book. There are some twists and surprises that I will obviously not  mention here, but you are mostly going through their journey with them. You will be broken, but you will be put back together. The epilogue is an ode to LIVING and it is incredibly touching.

With having read just a couple of her books I’m already a card-carrying member of the JH FanClub. Highly recommend. (Be aware of the triggers)

Narration: Two new narrators for me: Stefanie Kay and Neill Thorne, who do a phenomenal job.

Possible triggers: violent death of spouse, organ donation, suicidal ideation, suicide attempt, living in foster care, child abuse, suicide
