Star-Crossed Lovers Duet #1

e-ARC provided by Candi Cane PR

Author: A. Jade

Josh and Memphis are both in the foster care system. They formed an unbreakable brother’s bond and Memphis is always cleaning up Josh’s messes. When they are both sent to yet another foster home, Memphis does everything in his power to make them both “acceptable” in this new home.

And then one day he sees her staring out her window: Skylar. So pretty, so sad, so broken. He just know she’s meant to be his. The only problem? Josh gets to her first.

If you read The Words, you already met Memphis, Josh and Skylar, so the cliffhanger at the end is not a “scream at the book” kind of cliffy. Pretty much like The Words, this story grips you from the first page and it’s a heartbreaking ride. This is their backstory and it is leading you to where you saw them in that book. You definitely can read the duet as a standalone because this story definitely stands on its own.

I was exhausted (in a very good way!) by the end of the book – so much pain, so much angst, unrequited love… and when everything seems to be coming together, the Fates intervene and breaks it all apart.

Memphis oh Memphis… Can I claim him? I can’t wait for the second book and see him and his “Sky” finally find their way to each other. It’s definitely time.

Amazing! I wasn’t expecting anything else!
