Winnifred McNulty doesn’t let anything get in her way, let alone her limb difference. She’s confident in herself and enough to wear a “Captain Hook” costume for her best friend’s Halloween party. She strikes up a conversation with – lo and behold – another “pirate” who also humorously dresses as a pirate because of his leg prosthesis. One thing led to another and they end up having one epic one night stand.

Bo Durand is not in a good place emotionally and he can’t believe his luck when Win hits on him. He’s had the best night of his life but she was clear – this was a one and done. He leaves… but when Win texts him out of the blue a few weeks later saying she wants to talk, he gets the surprise of his life. He left her with a “party favor” as a parting gift. A baby.

THIS BOOK! OMG! I don’t think I ever rooted as much for two characters in a book! Please do NOT skip the author’s not at the beginning. It’s Own Voices and you have to read it!

Win is the friend you want to have and Bo is book HUSBAND material. Yes, it’s a surprise baby/pregnancy book (y’all know it’s one trope I don’t care for) but it is beautiful! All the feelings hit all the time!

Narration: This is a solo narration by Victoria Connolly and she does an incredible job conveying so many feelings! You’ll laugh, you’ll get teary-eyed but you will finish this with your heart full. Well done, Victoria! A home run!
