The Boudreaux #6

Audible audiobook

Author: Kristen Proby

Narrators: Rachel Fulginiti and Zachary Webber

In the 6th and final installment in the Boudreaux series, we follow Savannah’s story. We learned from previous books that she survived unspeakable horrors in the hands of her ex-husband, who’s now in prison for almost killing her. She’s not only survived, but is now thriving with the help of her siblings and her loving mother. She’s now feeling it’s time to move on.

Benjamin Preston is basically an honorary Boudreaux. He’s grown up together with their families being best friends. He loves all of them as siblings. Everyone but Savannah. His worst nightmare came true when she got married  and then it became even more horrible when he saved her from being killed. He never knew she was in danger and he can’t forgive himself. Now, Savannah is free and he just can’t stand being in the friend zone anymore. The whole family knows he loves her. The whole family also knows that Savannah loves him back – always has. They only need to be convinced that being together won’t destroy what they already have.

This was the perfect couple to tie up the series. We had been rooting for them from book 1. This book deals with the difficult subject of domestic violence and how it can break a person’s spirit. It’s lovely to see how Savannah takes the reins of her life as it gives her total agency over her destiny.

Ben, the tattooed, pierced, Krav Maga expert and former MMA fighter is perfect for her, having loved and respected her forever.

Great ending for the series!

Narration: Rachel Fulginiti and Zachary Webber are impeccable in this one.
