Author: Helena Hunting

Narrators: CJ Bloom and Connor Crais

When Rix loses her job and her pervert roommates make it impossible to keep living in her apartment, she has only one place to go – her brother’s place. One that she shares with his best friend. So what they have hated each other since they were kids? Yeah, the place smells like ball sweat (not the sports kind) and her brother has a never ending parade of puck bunnies coming in… But that’s her last resort. Ok, she had a crush on Tristan when she was a teen but she can tolerate him walking around in his tighty whities. Right?

Tristan likes to have control of his surroundings. His life is already too complicated to add hurricane Rix with her tiny shorts and bouncy ponytail and her gazillion beauty products in the bathroom. So what if that vanilla scent is ingrained in his mind? Who cares that she cooks perfect meals for the two resident athletes? And who cares that they can’t keep their hands of each other? Well, her brother might…

Helena Hunting never disappoints and If You Hate Me is quintessential Helena. The banter is amazing, there are laugh out loud moments, the side characters are so interesting that you want books for all of them… And the romance? Oh my word! Hate fucking in the best way! Go Tristan!

Narrated in dual style by two of my favorites: CJ Bloom and Connor Crais. CJ is perfect as the snarky, funny Rix and Connor will singe your ears with Tristan’s bedroom (or any other room) talk.

Rix and Tristan are both a little broken and it’s lovely to see them find their way to their HEA. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!

Possible triggers: mentions of child abandonment, financial instability, food insecurity
