Cherry Tree Harbor #4

Author: Melanie Harlow

We are back in Cherry Tree Harbor along with tv heartthrob Dashiel Buckley, who’s going home for a wedding. He’s also taking time off to reevaluate his career. He’s kind of stuck in his “beachy, swimsuit-wearing” persona and he’s afraid he’s not being taken seriously and is being typecast.

Ari DeLuca is also back in town. She’s taking over the family diner after spending time in NYC as a chef, where her boyfriend and mentor did nothing but gaslight and try to convince her she has no talent. Ari’s had a crush on Dash since her teens. A crush that has developed into “civilized animosity” because of something that happened in the past. So, when she sees him again (and in a most revealing circumstance), she’s not happy. But he’s everywhere: he takes to the ER when she injures her hand,  fills in for a server at the diner, gets her clunker of a car fixed. She’s confused. And when one text message becomes a phone calls that brings all their defenses down, they decide to “get it out of their system” so to speak. One night turns into every night and soon they can’t keep apart.

But both of them have dreams: hers are in Cherry Tree Harbor and his are in Hollywood. They were not meant to be.. or were they?

I don’t know how she does it, but every book in this series is even better than the rest. This is like a rom com from the Golden Era of rom coms. It warms your heart, makes you smile, gives you all the warm and fuzzies while fogging your reading glasses.

I loved Ari and Dash’s story and, as usual, the families are present, as well as the brothers dispensing advice . All with the small town vibe we’ve come to love.

LOVED IT! All the swoons!

Thanks, Melanie, for the opportunity to go back to Cherry Tree Harbor a little earlier!
