Be Still Series #4

ARC provided by author

Author: Tia Louise

We’re back in Eureka, where Jemima arrives with a little kid in tow. She saved the girl from dire and dangerous circumstances and what better place to hide than home? Soon, she’s back working in the paper and living with her “daughter” in Piper’s old apartment.

Cue in Raif, whom we met as a last minute hero in the previous book. He’s “the bad boy’ from the most notorious family in Eureka. But Jemima can’t stay away from him, especially when she’s supposed to profile his business for the paper. From his side, Raif thinks Jemima is everything he’s ever wanted and knows he can’t have… That is, until Jemima sees herself in danger of losing Nikki and  a husband can solve all her problems and she proposes to Raif.

Nothing stays calm in Eureka for long and soon things get pretty interesting and dangerous.

Ok, I’ll confess. This is a sweet story of found family, small town romance and all but the MVP here is Raif. Talk about a bad boy with a heart of gold… and beautiful little gestures! All I’ll say is flowers, motorcycle rides, and, swoon, personal ads in the paper.

I enjoyed the story, but there are some subplots and secondary characters that I thought were there for no reason. The whole Mardi Gras parade/gala didn’t really take us anywhere. And where the heck is Nikki from? The two possible countries mentioned are so far apart in language and cultures and all that I was confused.

I loved the sisters and friends finally stopping being horribly judgy of Raif. The kids are a hoot and fun part of the story.

Don’t forget to download the bonus scene! It’s lovely!

Thanks, Tia for the opportunity to read this early!
