Cherry Peak #2

ALC provided by Must Love Audio

Author: Hannah Cowan

Narrators: Megan Wicks and Aiden Snow

Garrison Becket arrives at Steele Ranch in Cherry Peak with a major chip on his shoulder. He’s not there by choice. It’s almost like his father sent him to “the naughty step” after he royally screwed up with one of their record label’s biggest stars. Now he’s there like a boy on time out and he’s not happy. To say he’s a fish out of water is not enough – picture the billionaire in designer shoes in a ranch. But it’s just for two months, he’ll endure.

The wrench in his plans is Poppy Huntsly. The super star country singer whose grandad owns the ranch is the boyfriend of her best friend and he’s immediately told she’s off limits so to speak. And she’s a country girl through and through. But she’s impossible to ignore with her sass, her luscious curves and her lack of interest in his rich boy status. Sparks fly and they fall into a friends with benefits arrangement that will turn those sparks into a raging fire. Well, nobody thought that they would be catching feeling too…

I love when an author gives me a main character that has everything to be unlikable and then slowly make you change your mind. Garrison is, let’s face it, an asshole, but we get to peel layer by layer along with Poppy and pretty soon we fall for him too.

I loved Poppy! She’s unapologetic herself: sassy, curvy, independent. Most of all, I love how she knows which battles to pick. She’s not proud, she’s confident. She’s strong even when she breaks. I loved how they slowly become each other’s safe harbor and how supportive they are of one another. Garrison changes before our very eyes – one act of service at a time.

Don’t be fooled by the cutesy cover. These two burn the sheets and it’s oh so good. 🌶

Narrated by Megan Wicks and Aiden snow in dual style, which is a treat in itself. Meghan’s performance conveys all of Poppy’s personality and Aiden is, with his signature booming voice, perfect as Garrison, especially when he’s vulnerable. LOVED IT.

Thanks, @mustloveaudio for the early fun!
