Weston Shaw is living the dream. A talented quarterback in the NFL playing for his home team, living in a brand new dream house. He’s been changing his player (non-sports) ways and one phone call turns his world upside down. They are calling from the hospital where his son was admitted after a car crash. Son? What son?! He rushes to the hospital to find out the baby’s mother hasn’t survived and is met by her sister who’s under the assumption that he knew about baby Caleb and abandoned them. 

To Sadie’s surprise, Weston immediately starts taking measures to take care of the child and she soon realizes she can’t (and doesn’t have the means to) fight him in court. But Weston is nothing like the absentee deadbeat dad she takes him for and he invites her to move in and raise baby Caleb with him. He wouldn’t be doing it completely alone, but with the help of his family and also his teammates (who have a single da group and immediately start writing him a “single dad playbook”). He knows Sadies adores Caleb and the baby needs her. 

Living together makes both of them learn how the other really is and soon they realize they are becoming a perfect little family. 

Despite the tragic situation that brings Weston and Sadie together, this is a pretty low angst, cute story. I loved the cutesy fumbling new dad antics and the teammates are adorable as a support group. Sadie and West are cute and hot together and you can’t help falling in lobe with their little family (and no third act shenanigans, yay!). 

Narrated dual style by Ava Erickson and Connor Crais, it was a joy to listen to. Ava’s voice has a sweet quality to it that endears you to Sadie immediately. Connor absolutely rocks the daddy role (#respectfully) and is the perfect voice for Weston. Connor singing lullabies? Yeah…

Sweet and adorable.
