Jolie Prescott is a ray of sunshine (with a dash of sass), who is in love with love. She has the perfect job: she is part owner of Three’s A Charm, a wedding planning business where she is the photographer.

Sadly, she’s dumped by her fiancé, and when the gossip is about to die down, he announces he’s engaged to her arch-nemesis no less. However, the Universe puts Vaughn Cavanagh on her path in a meet cute only a “feral cat” and a scalding cup of coffee can provide. And when he helps her “save face” in front of her ex by saying they are dating, she is vexed. After all he is none other than her archenemy’s half-brother. From fake dating, to dealing with their true feelings and Vaughn’s father’s illness and his sister’s brattiness, they need to figure out if they can find their way to an HEA.

Oh, my word, Mr Cavanagh… Phew! Mr Grumpy takes his time to open his heart and his dirty mouth and let me tell you, Jolie couldn’t stand a chance. I love a grump who has a heart of gold, and when you realize why Vaughn is so closed up, you root for Jolie to crack that heart of his wide open and get in.

This is a delightful small town romance, with the gossip and the usual shenanigans with the added touch of the grumpy millionaire that just needed to be attacked by a cat to remember who he really is.

Narrated dual style by Andi Arndt and Christian Fox, this is a delight. Andi has the perfect voice for the sweet but sassy and take-no-crap Jolie and she does it perfectly! I don’t think I need to tell anyone that Mr Fox can do grumpy, sexy and vulnerable in a way that will have you swooning.

There’s banter, there is not so fake dating, there is rediscovering your family, there’s a fun girl squad, and no third act nonsense. I will definitely look for more from Jessica Prince.

Thanks, Jessica and @mustloveaudio for letting me listen to the audiobook early!
