Chris Holt is a billionaire. Everything should be going well in his life, but he is very unhappy in his personal life. He married young, to a woman he thought he loved but who turned out to be a “reverse gold digger”. She has no interest in him now other than the money he made after they got married. And she has no intention of leaving her life of luxury. A divorce will mean Chris will have to give her half his assets, something that never crossed his mind… until the woman of his dreams walks into his office. 

Oh boy! This one was something wild! Chris and Marissa are fire together and they found a deep connection that they can’t shake off. The age gap doesn’t matter, his marital status is secondary, they just HAVE to be together… But life is not that simple and soon they realize that they need to fix the mess they found themselves into so that they can truly find an HEA. 

I liked that they take time and do the work to finally be happy together. I don’t particularly like the cheating trope, but I would say this is a “cheating adjacent” (and Chris’s wife is straight out of hell, so you kind of forgive him). It was swoony and OH SO HOT. 

Monique Ryerson is a new narrator to me and I absolutely fell in love with her raspy, sultry voice! I need to listen to her more! Instant fan! Mr Connor Crais… oh dear lawd… His performance of the hunky, besotted Chris is going to get him some praise that might get him blushing. LOL #respectfully There is a certain word he pronounces with a prolonged vowel that will have the women fainting. Just sayin’… 😉 Turn the AC on when reading!
