I am not okay… I know Melissa never really “ends” a series (I love the cameos that always come!), but my heart broke knowing that she covered all the Steeles now, definitely one of my favorite of her families.
In true Melissa fashion, she ties this one up with a bang: it starts with a 72-hour trip to the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest with a survivalist who wants you fired!!!Poor Sutton! And yes, there is only one tent!
I knew Flynn and Sutton were going to set off sparks, but I was seriously concerned they’d start a massive forest fire! Oh my! We knew that all the bickering and banter hid intense attraction and when they find themselves literally completely alone in the rainforest, there is nowhere to hide. They finally cave – oh they cave- but there is a problem: she’s her boss.
I loved this story! The added “survival” story in the beginning gave it a fresh take on the “forced proximity” trope and it is fun to see them eat worms and see Glamour Girl roughing it. Then, they are absolute fire together but the swoon is also up to 11! And we go back too Silver Island for Archer’s wedding, where we get all the Steeles, Silvers, Remingtons, the pranks, and all the fun we always get when we go there.
If I know Melissa, I am sure we’ll eventually hear more about them in mentions of weddings, babies and everything in books to come and I am glad we got to say goodbye with an amazing story!
If you love an Indiana Jones-like hero, a Lois Lane heroine, jungle (no, rainforest!) shenanigans, family pranks, supporting your partner 100%, knowing your family will always have your back, cool grandparents, Bra Brigade, you will be enticed to love Sutton and Flynn.
