Nash’s heart beats exclusively for his little boy Cutler AKA Beefcake. As a single dad, the kid is his entire world. He was scared senseless when they found out he had severe asthma, but things seemed to be finally under control. Or so he thought. When they go to a follow up routine appointment with the pediatrician, he finds Dr. Emerson Chadwick at the office. She’s the new pediatrician – at least for a few months until she finds a permanent position elsewhere. Beefcake is immediately smitten (and to his utter surprise, so is Nash) and, as the Universe likes to prank him apparently, the beautiful doctor is also his new next door neighbor. Falling for the literal girl next door is not wise, especially when we have little hearts to protect too, but his heart, which had only beaten for his boy so far, is skipping a few beats for Emerson.

Swoon time! I knew that when we got to Nash’s story it would be lovely, but their romance just hits all the right spots and right in the feels! Emerson and Nash are made for each other and Beefcake is the cherry on top. I listened to the audiobook in one sitting and it kept me smiling from start to finish (even the “conflict” at the end warmed my heart!).

I love how this group of “Ride or Die” friends is tighter than many families connected by blood. They show up for Nash, Beefcake and Emerson and it makes a lovely, heartwarming story.

The audiobooks is narrated dual style by Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton and they are incredible together. Both of them managed to convey all the emotions in this story perfectly – the competent doctor figuring out that dreams change and the dedicated dad who finds out it’s possible to find room in your heart for more love. A lovely listen!

Thanks, Laura, for taking me back to Magnolia Falls early!
