Ember Falls #1

ARC by Valentine PR and ALC by Must Love Audio

Author: Corinne Michaels

Narrators: Vanessa Edwin and Connor Crais

Ainsley and Lachlan have known each other since they were kids and Ainsley has loved him ever since. But one day, four years ago, in a very emotional moment for Lachlan, they shared a kiss and he made it clear to her that it was a mistake. Ainsley then goes too NYC to pursue her dreams of being a reporter and it’s this dream that will also bring her aback to Ember Falls, where single dad Lachlan is now fire chief and a hero. He’s made national news with a rescue and Ainsley is sent to cover the story.

If there is anyone who Lachlan would agree to talk to, it’s Ainsley. While she thinks he’s rejected her for lack of interest, it’s quite the opposite: he thinks he’s not good enough for her and will never be able to be there for her emotionally.

Several talks later and with staying at his place after her accommodations prove to be a fire hazard, Ainsley is making herself an integral part of the Wests’s lives. Will Lachlan allow himself to forget the past hurts and let himself love and be loved?

I love Corinne Michaels and I’m already in love with Ember Falls and its ultimate frisbee team, the waterfalls, Rose, everything!

Narrated dual style by two favorite: Vanessa Edwin and Connor Crais. Vanessa has a vibrant voice that’s also soft and she portrays the peppy, sunshiny Ainsley perfectly. Connor can do tortured and grumpy like no other and he makes Lachlan absolutely irresistible.

I loved this small town romance with the reporter from the big city, the firefighter from the small town, the cute little girl who steals our hearts and there magic waterfalls.

I can always depend on Corinne to deliver!

Side note: it’s been a while since Corinne has unleashed total devastation and I’m scared for when she brings it full forced again. It’ll be of Game of Thrones proportions! And I’ll be there for it!

Thanks, Corinne, Valentine PR and Must Love for taking me to Ember Falls early!

Content notes: death of a parent, grief, child abandonment, military deployments and their effect on the families, estrangement from a parental figure
