Lucky River Ranch #1

Yeehaw!

Mollie and her father had been estranged for years, ever since her mother decided ranch life wasn’t for her and took little Mollie with her to Dallas. Now, her dad passed away unexpectedly and she gets to inherit the ranch. Good, because she can sell it and use all the money to pump some cash into her designer cowboy boots business. But there are a few wrenches thrown in her plans: there is a stipulation in his will. She’ll have to live there  and actively manage the ranch for a year before she can do whatever she wants with it. And there is Cash…

Cash and his brothers have been living at the ranch since his parents died in a car accident. Garrett took the boys in, gave them jobs and a place to live. He also promised Cash the ranch would go him. Now, this city girl princess in sparkly books shows up to squash his dreams of joining the ranch to his family’s property and turning it into a destination place with all sorts of activities. Heads will butt but so will boots, if you catch my drift…

Y’all, I absolutely loved this one! Cash and Mollie are both string-willed, they banter like nobody’s business and it was fun to watch all sorts of sparks fly. Cash is grumpy (and you’ll get why” but he is a walking green flag. Mollie is in no way the ditzy princess you’d expect and it’s fun to watch them peel off each other’s layers (and clothes! LOL).

The audiobook is narrated dual style by Lila Winters and Stephen Dexter. They both nail their characters’ personalities and I loved the twang! I have been a fan of Lila for a while but I have been recently going down into a rabbit hole of Stephen’s performances and he has been wowing me with every single one. His Cash is to die for!

Can’t wait for Wyatt!

Content notes: mentions of death of parents (heart attack and car accident), grief
