Cue in the meet cute: Ariella is at a bar with her prima when a hot, 6’4″ Texan cowboy approaches her and asks her to pretend to be his date. His ex is at the bar and he doesn’t want her to see him alone. Ari is inclined to not break the “girl code” until she meets the devil incarnate that is “the ex”. She plays along and surprisingly they have a great night just talking and having around town.

The surprise comes the next day when Ari shows up for her job as the strength and conditioning coach and the star hockey player is her “fake date”.

Dalton had been living like a recluse since his break up from the girlfriend from hell and his goal is to stay single, focus on the game and develop his relationship with his estranged father. But he has never felt as alive as he did from the moment he heard Ari laugh. Now, everyone thinks they’re sating and they have to keep the charade. Things will get complicates as Ari as adamant to be taken seriously in this male dominated job (and in her very Mexican family where machismo is the norm), but things soon don’t start to feel fake anymore…

Narrated dual style by two of my favorites, Vanessa Vasquez and Christian Fox, who not only portray Ari and Dalton perfectly but also show flawless Spanish pronunciation! They’re phenomenal in this one! Ari is determined, loyal, strong. Dalton is charming, vulnerable and a little broken. Both performances. are spot on and deserve all the stars. 

If you love a story with fake dating, workplace between a star hockey player and his coach, a father who’s a Disney villain, friends who are ride or die, you will love this one!
