Thanks, LibroFM for the audiobook.
We’re back in the Skyland world and if you have been listening to these books, you’ve met Hendrix, the cool, rich, very unattached aunt. Well, she’s about to meet a “unicorn”, a man who’s not only completely smitten and attracted to her but who’s supportive and who respects her hopes and dreams.

Billionaire Maverick is hosting a party with his ex. No one knows they’ve parted ways yet, so he’s in a bad situation when the woman of his dreams shows up at the party. Soon, he finds out that this incredible woman, with whom he seems to share experiences and goals, is his ex’s soon-to-be business partner.

The attraction is stronger than any “code” and they cave. Both of them are also facing personal challenges. They will have to choose: part ways or face everything together.

Narrated dual style by Wesleigh Siobhan and Jakobi Diem, who were perfectly cast. Wesleigh manages to give us s myriad of different characters while making them unique. Jakobi’s mellow voice is the embodiment of the caring, supportive and irresistible Maverick.

One of the challenges Hendrix faces is that her mom has Alzheimer’s. Kennedy shows how heartbreaking it is to see a parent disappear before your eyes and how vulnerable a person with this disease becomes. It is dealt with respect and authenticity. She also touches subjects like racism, inequality in the workspace and how difficulty it is for a woman to pave her way, especially in a world where the color of her skin can put her at an even bigger disadvantage.

I loved how present Yasmen and Soledad are in this book. No one is an island and Hendrix definitely knows she can rely on her girls to help her through everything. Another great Kennedy Ryan story.
