Thanks, Adriana, for the ALC!
And we finish the Brewer Family series with my favorite: Tate! He’s still traipsing around the country helping his oldest brother fix the mess left behind by their awful father. In one of these trips, he meets HER, the woman of his dreams. She’s beautiful, interesting, intelligent, a little older and he’s smitten. He does get a night with her… but one won’t be enough. Why did ‘Kelly Kapowski’ (IYKYK) just leave without a trace? Well, that is until he arrives at the Raptors Headquarters and Aurora Johnson (AKA Kelly) is there to meet him. Huh, and there is more about her that is familiar …
Aurora is on ‘haitus’. After two failed marriages before the age of 40, she decides to throw caution to the wind and have a one night stand with the gorgeous guy from the plane. Leave it to kismet that they’re on the same hotel. It’s an unbelievable night but she leaves in a hurry, without letting him know her real name. It’s for the best. But the Universe is a prankster because he’s not only her new boss at the Raptors but he’s her ‘stepdaughter”s best friend. It was supposed to be a non complicated one night stand and now it’s a full-blown ‘situation’!
I loved this one. I had a feeling that Tate would somehow cross paths with the “hot stepmommy” and it was fun to see I was right. Tate is the swooniest of the Brewers and he deserved an epic HEA.
Narrated dual style by Janine Granda and Lance Greenfield, you can tell by their performances that they are having fun too with Aurora and Tate. Janine conveys Aurora’s skittishness derived from her failed previous relationships and her surprise at being so taken by Tate. Lance gives us a cocky, confident yet adorable Tate. Not to mention the chemistry between the characters!
As in all Adriana’s books, the ‘Family’ factor is king and the Brewers are a wonderful bunch who have been through a lot. Here’s to hunky billionaires, romance reading heroines, sassy grandmas. age gaps, and a very fulfilling resolution to a ‘situation’. Great fun!
