The Blackwells of Montana #3

ALC and ARC provided by author

Author: Kristen Proby

Narration: Emma Wilder and Connor Crais

Thanks, @kristenproby for taking me back to Montana early!

We know that Billie and Connor had a scorching one night stand and then got monumentally surprised to find out they’ll be forever connected through their siblings. They keep doing the ‘furtive hookups’ thing until Billie says ‘enough’ – Connor either takes this relationship seriously or she’s out.. But Connor doesn’t even know if he’s able to open his heart (as his ex-wife knows). When he realizes life without Billie is not a possibility, he decides to crack that heart open.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the billionaire and the bumble bee! Connor is skittish and also worried about the age gap between them but he’s also realized that no Billie makes it impossible to even breathe. They’re so supportive of each other and their goals and it’s lovely. I also thought it was cute that insomniac Billie can only sleep well when cuddled to Connor (nap dates!). Connor is also the king of billionaire gestures while showing how in tune to Billie he is. It’s the little things that show how much loves her and cares for her well-being.  I have been cheering and loving all of Kristen’s couple but I think I found a favorite.

I’m also happy how Billie is portrayed as confident plus-sized woman. She’s badass too (don’t test her, Fiona! IYKYK).

The audiobook is a delight. Narrated dual style by Emma Wilder and Connor Crais, two of my favorites. They manage to convey the. longing, the connection and the love between Billie and the billionaire. They also transition from male to female voices flawlessly, not to mention between accents. I also liked that they didn’t go heavy on the Irish accent, making it fell natural.

I devoured this one in one sitting! Perfect for people small town romances, age gaps, a hero who’s completely in tune with his woman, a man obsessed, a heroine who’s confident and self-assured, lavish trips and grand and small meaningful gestures.  I can’t wait to go back to Bitterroot Valley! All the bumble bees!

Content notes: brief situations of fat shaming, hero receives death threats
