Thank you, Natasha, for the advanced copies.
When, at the age of 25, and totally by accident, Sierra finds out that she’s adopted, her world is shattered. She adores her parents and she’s hurt that she’s been lied to. There is also the fact now that she feels there is a piece of her missing: who were the people who put an hours-old baby in a cardboard box and left it a fire station? So she sets up to find out about her past. She buys a dilapidated house in the town where she was given up (in a wonderful coincidence, that’s where her best friend lives too) and she moves there. But first, the fixer upper needs, well, fixing. Enter Caleb. He also moved to Montgavin looking for a fresh start and his construction firm is hired to fix a house ASAP. He wasn’t expecting to fall completely fall for the owner immediately. But there are some obstacles un his way: he briefly dated her best friend and apparently people in town are invested in keeping Sierra in the dark about her birth.
Narrated dual style by Savannah Peachwood and Gregory Salinas, who have been the voices in this whole series, showing their immense talent. Savannah is a delight here as the determined, witty, loyal Sierra., Gregory channels the alpha, grumpy, protective and completely smitten Caleb with perfection. And they are fire together!
This was a fun, small town romance with a touch of suspense (that revelation and everything that came with it!) The chemistry between Sierra and Caleb is through the roof and the banter is top tier. I really enjoyed this one!
Also, download the bonus epilogue as it will tie up the whole series and will bring a tear to your eyes.
Thanks again, Natasha!
Content notes: death threats, mentions of infertility, child abandonment, adoption, toxic relationships with family members
