The Silvers at Silver Island #1

Thanks, Melissa for the advanced review copy.
Wells Silver was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He’s a Silver in Silver Island and that comes with expectations. The charming restaurant owner has acquired, though, quite the fame as a ladies man and he’s been okay with that. Things start to change when he meets Victoria Braden. She’s beautiful, slightly older than him, a widow who runs her own empire. She also doesn’t fall for his charms.
When things are meant to happen they do, and when Wells is visiting NYC, scouting places for his new restaurant, he spots her sitting alone at a bar, looking sad. He sees it as a sign and approaches her.
Victoria is drowning her sorrows on the fifth anniversary of her husband’s passing. The last thing on her mind was flirting with trouble – and that is exactly what Wells is. He makes her feel alive again and that scares her. But one night with him might one just what she needed. What she doesn’t know is that Wells is a determined man and she won’t get rid of him that easily…
I’ve been waiting for Wells’ book and it didn’t disappoint! This ‘boy toy” falls first and falls HARD. We get to know a side of him that even he doesn’t realize he has. Also, talk about a boy obsessed! ‘Victory’ is also a wonderful character. We totally understand where she is coming from, her grief and hesitation towards breaking the walls around her heart. She never stood a chance, though, when Wells set his sights on her.
As in all Melissa’s book, Family is key and the families here are amazing. The text convos, the epic pranks, the Bra Brigade – they are all here. I love going back to Silver Island,
And who would have thought that flirting through online Scrabble games would be so swoony? And give me all the treasure maps!
LOVED IT!
