Bluebird Basin #3

ARC provided by NetGalley

Author: Jess K. Hardy

Thanks, Jess K. Hardy and NetGalley for the e-book.

I fell in love with the Bluebird Basin series because of its ‘older’ main characters. Though we have a ‘second generation’ installment here, I fell equally in love with Davis (Mira’s daughter and Madigan’s stepdaughter) and Kev’s (one one of the men living in Little Timber) second chance romance. Davis and Kev met in the previous books and sadly Kev has relapsed and went to rehab. In Wish You Were Here, we follow them finding their way back to each other.

Davis knew that when Kev returned from rehab he’d have to come back to Little Timber. She’s putting on a ‘happy’ face and saying all is okay but she’s struggling immensely. Kev is equally distressed as he doesn’t know if he still belongs there and if Davis will ever forgive him.

This one is heartbreakingly beautiful. Davis was shattered when they found out that Kev was using again. Kev is dealing with all his demons and the shame of betraying Davis’ trust and succumbing to drugs. They love each other deeply but Kev especially has a lot of healing (and groveling) to do while Davis has to learn to trust again.

I loved how supporting the men from Little Timber are and how there was the incorporation of equine therapy in this. I sincerely hope that Jess K. Hardy will continue with the series.

If you love a redemption arc,  a boy obsessed, grand gestures, letters and notes and a lovely HEA, this one is for you.
