Wolf King #2

Thanks, @simonmaverick for the audiobook.

Let me start by saying that this is pretty much a book #2 in a trilogy and you have to read book #1 before you start this one.

And let me get this out of my chest: #TEAMBLAKEFOREVER!

Phew, done! Yeah, we were swooning over Callum in The Wolf King until a certain morally gray wolf entered the chat. Sorry, Callum, but we all (including Aurora) love a bad boy who’s been hurt and is dark and mysterious and Blake… aaaaah Blake. Sigh.

The audiobook is again narrated in duet by Zara Hampton-Brown, Shane East and Sean Masters. As usual Zara knocks it out of the park. She takes the brunt of the storytelling here, as she voices all characters but Callum and Blake, including all male characters too. She is stupendous. Shane East is back with his delicious Scottish brogue as the honorable Callum who’s seeing his beloved slip through his fingers. Sean Masters is phenomenal as Blake. He brings all the aspects of Blake’s personality to his performance: cynical, dangerous, full of swagger and deceit. Amazing audio experience!

Yes, this is not the end of the story and if you, like me, gets frustrated with cliffhangers, I’m sorry to say that you will be screaming at the end of this one. Book #3 can’t come soon enough!

Great for fantasy and romance lovers. We have werewolves, fated mates, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, found family, touch her and dîe, banter, a love triangle and political machinations galore!  Fun!

Content notes: violence and gore
