Thanks, @penelopewardauthor and @mustloveaudio for the ALC!

Oh, Penelope, why do you do this me?

I’m going to be a little vague in this review because you need to go blind – trust me.

When Dorian Vanderbilt comes home after the unexpected passing of his father and his stepmother, he wasn’t expecting to find a beautiful crop top-wearing painter using his mansion’s living room as a studio. She’s Primrose Gallagher, his stepmother’s niece who had been living with his dad and her aunt while she attends Art school.

Primrose is worried that she will have to find a new place to live. After all, he called her aunt a gold digger and her a squatter… but the next day Dorian tells her she can stay while she’s in school. Late night run-ins in the kitchen, unexpected conversations in closets and bonding over Tarantino movies added to explosive chemistry can only lead to a relationship.

They are falling in love. Neither one wanted to. Things are going well. They’re happy.

It was all too good to be true and the world turns upside down.

Oh Penelope! You deceived me with a sweet, low angsty romance and, BOOM, you break my heart! I knew everything was too good to be true and boy did you deliver heartbreak. And you did it with the help of the unbelievably talented Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton. Savannah’s melodious voice is perfect for Primrose (and especially another character we meet in the second part of the book) and Teddy is swoony as the billionaire who wasn’t expecting to fall in love so hard.

You have a warm, compassionate and loving budding artist, a billionaire who inherited way more than a mansion and a company, forced proximity, wonderful secondary characters, roommates who fall in love, the equivalent of a Batman’s Alfred, heartbreak, second chances and and a love story that will resist anything thrown its way,

Well done, Ms Penelope!

Content notes: accidental death of family members, mentions of cancer treatment (not MCs), panic attack
