Book 2 in the Love in Galway series, Heart Strings takes us two years past the events in Morbidly Yours and a few things happened: Lark and Callum are about to get married and Cielo and Aidan had a whirlwind six-month romance and broke up when Aidan had to move to London for his musical career. When he did that, Cielo, the medical student, excised him from her life with surgical precision. No contact. Blocked him everywhere. But his songs are on the radio.. and they are all about her.
Aidan knew he HAD to go to London. With his career taking off, he can finally help his family financially. He’s pretty aware that he screwed up with Cielo. But now they’ll be together as maid of honor and best man at lark and Callum’s wedding. That’s his chance to win her back.
I loved going back to Galway! It was an expected surprise to have this be a second chance romance where we find Cielo and Aidan already broken up, but it made sense.
Cielo is guarded. A cancer survivor who has to deal with the polar opposites of a helicopter parent (Mom) and an estranged one (Dad, who she feels abandoned her). So, when Aidan leaves, her first instinct is to shut him out. After all, in her experience, people leave her.
Aidan is such a green flag! We feel for him. He got caught off by his success and the break up shook him. Plus he’s dealing with a manipulative agent and a label who wants to totally change him into some sort of pop idol.
So, in the Irish countryside, these two have to work together to make this wedding beautiful. If Irish luck works, Aidan might even get Cielo back.
I hope we get Saoirse’s story!
