Thanks, @thesierrasimone for the ALC, the beautiful physical copy AND the therapy bill… 😉

If you got here, I am assuming you’ve already become acquainted with the Lyoness world, if not, go back and start from the beginning, trust me.

In Bitter Burn, we pick up where we left off with our trio in Honey Cut and things are not looking good. Mark is closer than ever to achieving his goals, but everything changed. The pawns in his chess game of revenge have become everything to him and now he has something to lose. I’ll be vague and stop here because I want you to experience the anxiety, the tachycardia and the incessant gasping that happened to me… and it was glorious!

And I was smart enough to opt to listen to this masterpiece audio and what a masterclass in storytelling it is!

Narrated dual style by three performers at the top of their game: Isabelle Ruther, Oscar Reyes (reprising theirs roles) and Jacob Morgan as Mark Trevena.

Isabelle is phenomenal! Isolde goes from a a ruthless, determined teenager Saint in Salt in The Wound to this incredibly lonely woman who feels like she’s either been betrayed by or is herself betraying a loved a one. Her performance is brilliant, with so many layers.

Oscar – ah Oscar… I joke that he cornered the market of sad, tortured boys and Tristan is the epitome of that. No one could give voice to the singing soldier like he does.

And we get to Mark… Jacob had the task of portraying a ruthless man who has nothing to lose and finds himself with everything to lose. His performance is extremely nuanced, making you understand why Mark Trevena is so disturbingly irresistible.

The audiobook is a must listen!

As for Sierra’s writing, I’m always – ALWAYS – in awe of how she can outdone herself when the bar is already so high. Her immense knowledge of Literature and  Religion is showcased in her books in a masterful way. Plus, she can plot a mystery that will leave your jaw on the floor constantly.

Sierra fans will get LOTS of Easter eggs and cameos of beloved characters, including a very quick but intriguing one that will have you salivating for her next book in another beloved series.

A thousand stars!

Content notes: Seriously?! Expect anything! You will get it.
