Thanks, @sjtillyauthor, @thesmuthood and @mustloveaudio for the copies!

We’re back in the Colorado mountains and Tilda (aka ‘Matty’) has just inherited her uncle’s cabin and a nice little 20 grand check. She’s happy to escape her Disney-villain-like family, so she’s decorating her fence. That’s when she meets Grumpy Park Ranger Ethan, who’s expecting ‘Matty’and is stumped by the lavender-haired beauty in skimpy clothes. Sparks definitely fly.

Both Tild and Ethan get letters from the deceased Jack, and boy, they’re in for a surprise! The uncle has a few tricks up his sleeve even from the afterlife. Tricks that will get Ethan and Tilda married (at least for four years!). One Vegas wedding, one ‘controlled emergency landing’, one cabin in the middle of nowhere, passionate nights and, guess what, they might just give it a go… until one of those letters resurfaces and it has the power to set them apart.

Oh boy, I loved this one! You immediately fall for Tilda, the love-starved girl who’s in shock of how her whole life changed in a heartbeat. Ethan is the classic hot, grumpy hero who loves being a ‘good boy’ (oh yeah…) and who will do anything for his girl. I even loved Uncle Jack, who albeit in a meddling way, just knew how to get the two people he loved together. The little secret about Jack warmed my heart too.

The audiobook is narrated in duet by Erin Mallon and Connor Crais and they are perfect! We all know Erin’s range and she gives us a broken, insecure woman who grows more confident right before our eyes (ears?). Grumpy Connor is always a delight and he delivers. We get all the growling, the ‘my wife’s and we get to see Ethan go up in flames when Tilda calls him a ‘good boy’. And both are superb in voicing the secondary characters too.

I am sorry to say goodbye to the all these men in flannel but the send off to the series was great! We get a bit of an age gap, a loving heroine, a cute ‘guard duck’, secrets from the past, a family straight out of a horror movie, a hero who is not afraid to yield an axe to protect his girl and a heartwarming HEA with swoony groveling moments.

SWOONY!

Rep: curvy heroine

Content notes: toxic relationship with family, psychological and physical abuse, mentions of loss of parents, death of loved one, plane crash (no injuries)
