Yeehaw! We are back at the Lucky River Ranch and you are not ready for Wheeler and Duke!
When Wheeler shows up at the Lucky River Ranch to work with her best friend on their designer boots line, she’s not looking for romance. Now, a nice hookup with a hunky cowboy? That can be arranged! But when Duke volunteers as tribute, she realizes that he’s interested in more than just one night which make her decide they are better as friends.
Duke is restless. He loves the ranch but he wants to experience more than ranch life and he’s itching to see the world. Any chance to get away is welcome. So, when Wheeler says she’s going to drive all the way to Colorado for a fashion show to promote their boots, he tags along so that she doesn’t drive in bad weather. And whaddya know? They get snowed in. A beautiful cabin, the woman of his dreams, cozy fires, nowhere to go and sparks fly. For two whole days.
A few weeks later, Wheeler finds out she brought something home from that trip. Something that might squash her professional dreams and Duke’s wish for freedom… or it might be just the most wonderful gift ever.
Can you fall in love with a fictional character? Because I am head over heels for Duke! I love a green flag hero and this one comes with a cowboy hat and boots and a southern twang that melted my heart. Wheeler also made me love her and wish her all the good things!
The audiobook is narrated in dual style by Lila Winters and Stephen Dexter as in all the previous ones in the series. They managed to give each character their own voices and personalities and that delicious southern twang.
I love all the Lucky River Ranch boys but I am particularly in love with Duke. The way he steps up, pivots and just loves Wheeler for who she is is just heartwarming.
Be ready for some lovely friends to lovers to future parents, great found family family vibes, snowed in spicy times, finding your person and figuring out that when you have love, you always find a way.
Now, I can’t wait for Ryder.
