The Blackwells of Montana #5

Author: Kristen Proby
Narrators: Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York
Thanks, @kristenproby for the ARC/ALC.
It’s always sad to say goodbye to a beloved series and I cherished The Blackwells of Montana so much! We finally find out what happened 15 years ago between Brooks and Juliet, leaving Brooks so hurt that Juliet became the equivalent of ‘she who shall not be named’ amongst The Blackwells.
It all goes awry when Juliet moves back to Bitterroot Valley, opens the Citrus and Sabe (little Birdie’s favorite restaurant as it’s gluten free and safe for her as a celiac) and now Brooks sees her everywhere. He made it clear: you are no welcome. Stay away.
Juliet is broken. The events from 15 years ago were the jump-start of a life she wasn’t planning to live. When she finally broke free, all she wanted was to come HOME. She knew she wouldn’t be welcome, but she wasn’t expecting she would feel utterly alone.
But true love never dies and soon Brooks starts to come around. It’s been 15 years, could they have healed enough to start over?
The audiobook is narrated dual style by Samantha Brentmoor and Sebastian York. Sebastian is amazing as always as the broody alpha. Now, Ms. Brentmoor is the MVP here. She wows us with an array of different voices – enough to make you wonder if this is a multicast production! Her performance alone is worth experiencing this wonderful story in audio.
I love an ‘it’s always been you’ romance and Where You Belong is one for the books. It has all the small town, found family, protective hero, small but meaningful acts of service, dream houses and the Spicy Girls Book Club that are Kristen’s signatures. Great ending for a phenomenal series!
Note: I love that Kristen Proby made Samantha Brentmoor read that one of the character’s favorite narrator is… Samantha Brentmoor!
Rep: FMC and a secondary character have food sensitivities, including celiac disease
Content notes: FMC was in a psychologically abusive relationship, mentions of suicide and suicide attempts
