Thanks, @natashamauthor for the ALC/ARC.

The first time he laid eyes on Lexi, Kirby was smitten… but she was forbidden. She’s married, for Pete’s sake, and he’s not that kind of man.

The next time he sees her, he sees fear in her eyes. The same fear he saw in his mother’s eyes. He can’t do anything about it. It’s not his place, but he will be there if she ever needs or wants help,

Lexi is trapped in a marriage with a narcissistic husband who’s alienated her from everyone. She hides it well from everyone but Kirby sees right through the façade. And one little gesture, one bouquet of flowers and one card, will change her life. Forever.

I fell for this one hook, line and sinker! We had a glimpse of Lexi and Kirby before and I was intrigued ever since!

Lexi is living a nightmare. For the outsider, it looks like a perfect marriage but we get a look inside the psychological hell she’s been living in (and so many women go through this…) pretty soon. When Kirby recognizes the signs.  He’s a knight in shining armor come to life: a true green flag hero that never takes agency away from Lexi. You will fall for them immediately while contemplating all sorts of revenge plots in your head against her craptastic husband! LOL

The audiobook is narrated dual style by Stephanie Rose and Teddy Hamilton. It’s my first time listening to them paired up and I loved it! Stephanie’s performance was perfect as the resilient yet vulnerable Lexi who can’t believe she’s getting a second chance at love. Who better than Teddy to embody this big, strong hockey player with a soft heart and a gentle touch? Swoony!

I loved the banter, their ‘dares’, the regal cat, the non-flashy billionaires. I rooted for the beautiful Lexi to break away from her cage. And I loved how Kirby stands up for her and how her family and friends step up as well.

I can’t  wait for the next book!
