We’re back at Leighton U and if you’ve been following these boys, we finally get to Theo and Madden – school rivals that have just become… stepbrothers. Theo resents his father for leaving his mom for Madden’s mother and – horror of horrors – Madden is the captain of Blackmore’s baseball team, Leighton U’s archenemy. 

When they are forced into a ‘family trip” in which they are not only roomed together but end up having to share a bed, Theo goes into a headpin. Because now his conflicting feelings about his stepbrother got a whole new complication added to them. When did Madden become so hot and alluring and irresistible and WTF?! 

I have loved following these boys from Leighton fumble their way into their authentic selves and towards their HEAs and I just knew that this one was going to be a favorite! 
The audiobook is masterfully cast. Christian Fox is back in this universe as Theo and welcome to Brandon Francis! Christian is amazing as Theo who’s grapppling with all these changes in his life. His bi-awakening is sweet and kind of endearing because he’s genuinely flabbergasted that it took Madden to awaken all theses new emotions. Brandon is perfect as Madden. His portrayal of the steady, MLB hopeful athlete and loyal son is spot on. He especially shines towards the end when Madden is put through the wringer for reasons and he nails it! 

What I find really fun in this series is (and CE Ricci writes them perfectly) is the underlying trope that I decided to call ‘idiots to lovers.  They’re young, they’r conflicted,. they’re messy, but in the end, they are all swoony. In this one, you’ll see how young they truly are when the P{Kenny Play becomes such a problem. They are the most lovable idiots. and they grand gesture their way out of the mess beautifully. 

It’s full of banter, a good amount of angst, one bed, school rivalry, sneaking around, reshaping families and finding out that your nemesis is the love of your life.

I can’t wait for Camden’s story!
