The Undone #3
ALC provided by LibroFM
Author: Peyton Corinne
Narrators: Meg Sylvan and Stephen Dexter
Thanks, @libroFM for the audiobook.
I think Peyton Corinne is out to unalive me. I knew Paloma and Bennett were going to break me. Bad. From their secret first relationship, through the years of yearning and longing to them finally finding their way back to each other.
Paloma is broken. We can tell she comes from trauma but we get slowly obliterated by knowing everything she went through. Bennett is autistic and reading people’s emotion’s (including his own) is a real hardship for him. The only touch he not only endures but craves is Paloma’s … but unexpectedly and without explanation, she leaves him.
Through alternating timelines, we piece together the patchwork of their love story and we hope with all our hearts that they find each other again.
The audiobook is PHENOMENAL. Narrated dual style by Meg Sylvan and Stephen Dexter, it’s a tour de force for both narrators. They have us navigate through so much pain and vulnerability while showing us a deep deep love and boy do they nail it!
You will want to protect Paloma and Bennett. You will swoon with how he regulates his emotions (and hers) by washing her hair. You will have your heart broken but you will be engulfed by all the feels.
I can’t wait for Lily and Toren!
A note: if you have a neurospicy brain like myself, maybe opt for immersive reading. The constant switch between the timelines had me a little lost on where I was in the timeline. Immersive reading fixed it.
Representation: MMC is on the autism spectrum (diagnosed in his childhood as the formerly known Asperger’s)
Content notes (including but not limited to): obsessive thoughts and spirals, compulsive acts, panic attacks, childhood trauma, child neglect, sexual abuse, grooming of a minor, gaslighting
