Wells Ranch #5

Thanks, @baileyhannahwrites and @netgalley for the ARC.

What do you do when, in seconds, your whole life changes? That’s what happens to Kate Wells. A freak accident in a barn and 16 years of love and connection are wiped out. Her loving husband doesn’t know her… or their kids. What can you do?

If you’ve been reading the Wells Ranch series, you’ve met Kate and Jackson and their adorable children, Odessa and Rhett. They were happy, they were still deeply in love, they were welcoming a new child… So when Jackson wakes up from the induced coma and doesn’t know who Kate is, your heart breaks alongside hers.

This is a poignant story about the endurance of love. Kate’s love never fails, even when she can’t tell if Jackson will ever be the same again. She knows the soul of the man she loves. They feel in love once. They can do it again.

There are heartbreaking moments, especially with Jackson grappling with fatherhood. As bits and pieces of memory return, you also realize that this might be their ‘new normal’.

I loved how Bailey developed this story as a ‘second chance romance’. Their marriage was never in crisis. Their bond was strong and deep and slowly they find their way back to happiness – in whatever form it presents itself.

This is an emotional read but it’s full of hope. There are a few grand gestures but it’s the million little things that tie the bonds between them again.

I am going to miss Wells Ranch but this was definitely a beautiful send off.

I can’t wait for what’s next for Bailey Hannah.
