Thanks, @kayleyloring for the ARC.
“He falls first. Every single day…” When Dean Rafferty, recent transplant to the town who took the assistant coach job for the Kenton Comets, stops by a store for some ‘kitchen stuff’ for his new place, he meets Soleil. A girl whose name is very appropriate as she’s definitely sunshine personified. They chat, they hit it off and set a date for next morning… and he gets royally stood up. She doesn’t even acknowledge him when they meet again later!
That’s when he learns that she is (oh crap) the daughter of the head coach, her father won’t let her get on the ice and she has short term memory and has no idea. Everything seems to be against them but they keep meeting up and having meet-cutes and Dean has to decide if it’s worth falling in love repeatedly. Every single day.
In this cute novella inspired by the movie, we get all the fun and the bittersweet moments of someone who seems to find their forever love only to lose her every single day. But never underestimate the staying power, the stamina and the determination of an elite athlete and Dean will do everything to get the girl.
Once more, I went and got the audiobook because it has one of my favorite people, Erin Mallon, and FINALLY I get Robert Hatchet playing a Kayley hero! If the story was already swoony, it gets even better with these two! And listen to the credits till the very end!
What you get: a hunky, adorkable new coach, a sparkly, sassy (and sadly clueless of her condition) boss’s daughter, a whole town invested in her well-being, diary entries, a series of swoony ‘groundhog days’, skating lessons and a satisfying HEA.
C’mon, Kayley, take a dive into the deep end of the ‘boy aquarium’! I’m loving these lovely hockey ‘amuse bouches”! Gimme gimme gimme more hockey butts!
