Everyone knows that Kristen Proby’s books are my happy place, but when she takes me back to Montana, I just know I will be kicking my feet and I was so right! 

Xander Hendrix has been injured before, but, with that last hit on the ice, he just knows – he’ll be out of commission for a while. And he also knows that there is nowhere in the world that can heal him better than HOME in Montana. So he convinces the team he’ll go through all the physical therapy there. He’ll do whatever it takes to get back on the ice. 

When Ivy gets called by her boss at the hospital to say she’s been requested to rehab an elite athlete staying in Montana, there’s no way for her to be prepared it’ll be her teenage crush. She’s loved Xander since he protected her from the bullies at school, followed his career religiously and now she’ll be responsible for his recovery. 

But Ivy has also been hurt by Xander in a way that affected her deeply: he forgot her. He has no idea who she is except the girl who lives in town and knows his family. He also forgot a certain New Year’s Eve…

I absolutely loved this audiobook! Narrated by a multicast captained by Savannah Thomas and Liam Cartwright, with appearances by Avery Caris, Samantha Brentmoor, Stella Hunter, Kat Auden, Connor Crais, Jason Clarke and Sebastian York, which makes this heavenly for an audiobook fan. Savannah’s beautiful voice coupled with an emotional performance gives us a determined, broken but strong heroine. Liam has the task of embodying the non-arrogant hockey star, the best of uncles, the devoted brother, son and friend and the perfect boyfriend. Guess what? He nailed it. His Xander will have you on a puddle on the floor. 

What you get: a hero with his career on the line, facing struggles he wasn’t expecting; a heroine whose life is far from a bed of roses but who keeps her head high, a mother from hell, a father who’s ‘basically Jesus’, found family, beautiful acts of service as love language, family gatherings, girls squad induction,  stepping up for a sister facing fears and proving that miscommunication can just be a trope on a book.
