I am here pondering what to tell you about this lovely story without spoiling any of the fun.

Let me give you the basics: Laia Grace is an aspiring influencer, living in NYC. Slowly she starts noticing that things are… off. Everything around her is a little fuzzy and reality seems to be, well, glitching.

Then one day Noah shows up and informs her that she is stuck in a ‘time loop’ and so is he. Together, they will have to outsmart the algorithm to go back to ‘real life’.

But things are definitely not what they seem…

I was enthralled by this alternate reality, magical realism Groundhog Day meets Just Like Heaven from the beginning. I loved how the author does a lot of commentary on ‘influencer culture’ without making Laia unlikeable at all. She’s caught in the web of this fake social media life and your jaw will hit the floor with the twists.

The audiobook is another incredible solo performance by Samantha Brentmoor, who makes you believe there is a full cast narrating this book. Every character is unique and every emotion is there. There is also the bonus of the effects for the @laiability content.

What you get: An aspiring influencer caught in her own ‘a day in the life’ forever, a broody, sad lawyer trying to figure out what the heck is going on, slow burn, he falls first, magical and whimsical elements, Iranian representation, finding your person no matter what universe or timeline they are in, grand gestures, becoming real and jailbreaking your way to an HEA.

Representation: FMC is first generation Iranian-American

Content notes (including but not limited to): mentions of loss of parent, grief, car accident, hospitalization, coma, organ donation, being an immigrant, feelings of being ‘othered’
