The Blackwells of Montana #4

ARC and ALC provided by author

Author: Kristen Proby

Narrators: Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke

Thanks, @kristenproby for the ARC and ALC!

Dr. Blake Blackwell is happy being married to his job. His relationships are casual and the most important woman in his life is his niece, Birdie. He gets really shaken up when he’s called in an emergency during a flight and he’s helped by the beautiful woman he was eyeing on the plane, who happens to be a nurse.  Luck would have it that they get stranded at the airport and one thing led to another. He had the best night of his life, but she left before he woke up and all he knows is that her name is Harper.

Harper is finally free from her abusive relationship, was working as a traveling nurse and is going back home to Montana to work at the Bitterroot Valley hospital’s NICU – the hospital where Blake works as an ER doctor. Suddenly, the one night stand of her dreams is everywhere. And he won’t let her leave this time…

Everyone should know by now that I am ready to pack and move to Montana at this point. First with the Wilds and now with the Blackwells. I love them all!

The audiobook is brilliantly performed dual style by Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke. Stella has a soft yet expressive voice that embodies all of Harper’s emotions. Jason is chef’s kiss as the obsessed, dedicated, green flag ‘playboy’ who just needed to find his person.

As in all the Montana books, family is key. Blake has his nosy brothers and sister and Harper was welcomed into the Hendrix bunch. Her sister Ava is a hoot. We get to catch up with everyone, even some Wilds, and we get teased to high heaven as to what is going on with Juliet and Brooks. 10/10 no notes!

It’s perfect for you who are looking for a night stand turned into forever, doctor/nurse romance, hiking spice, ‘he falls first” (and cooks for her!), spicy book club meetings, impromptu resort vacations sponsored by a billionaire, being someone’s home and sweet, lovely surprises.

Bring Brooks and Juliet! I’m ready!

Content notes: emotional domestic abuse, mentions of loss of a child, scenes in a NICU, giving up a child for adoption, assault on FMC, unexpected pregnancy, cheating (not MCs), ER scenes (non graphic)
